Elliott - Put your cursor on the upper right corner of the speaker’s box. A little blue box should appear. Click that and then click on “pin.” That will highlight the speaker for you. I hope this helps.

Don’t be alarmed. You may occasionally see a gray box on the screen. Not sure if it can be avoided. I hope it doesn’t interfere with your enjoyment.

A huge tree in our yard is being cut down by a neighbor as you play this music. I'm feeling the sadness of the tree inside the beauty of the music.

Understanding is mythic, facts are empirical, both are true. “These things never happened, but always are.”Sallust, Roman historian, 86~35 BCE

Another story is that after serving as midwife, Bride led the Holy Family to the Milk Cave in Bethlehem. They hid there to escape the martyrdom of all the children under age 2, and then departed for Egypt. The cave scrapings are known for their power to assist fertility. It’s a recognized shrine for that purpose even now.

I was fascinated to learn how Mendelssohn redefined the role of the conductor. What do you see as the role of a conductor? It's a controversial topic among symphony musicians.
